Linux Is a Socialist Plot

“From each according to his ability. To each according to his need.”

The above is often given as the socialist credo. However, it is much older than socialism. It actually appears in the Bible in the book of Acts, describing how the early church functioned. It also describes how Linux functions. What they both have in common is that the Bible and Linux are parts of a larger socialist plot.

How many times have you seen Linux websites ask for donations, in terms of service, time or money? It is a common occurrence. It is just like the church. They want your money. Each person is asked to contribute to the common good according to their ability to contribute. Most people take a pass, but it is the principle that stands. So, is Linux a socialist plot? Is this the thin edge of the wedge? Is their goal to topple capitalism, starting with, that bastion of monopoly capital, Microsoft?

Many people who don’t call themselves socialist would love to see Microsoft de-throned, forced into submission or even wiped out. Those sentiments run deep, but it is mostly misguided jealousy. But are we unwittingly playing into the hands of socialists when we think this way? Shouldn’t our first reaction be to rise in defence of Microsoft and the capitalist system for which it stands? Therefore, shouldn’t we be trying to rid ourselves of the socialist blight that is infecting our minds and computers? Yes, I am speaking of Linux.

Socialism is everywhere. They couldn’t stop with public libraries, fire departments, police stations and hospitals. No, they won’t be happy until they own it all. They pushed for pensions, publicly funded healthcare and daycare. Now they want to control you and your personal computer. It is time to say, “Enough!”

Are you willing to trust your sensitive data to such people who would produce anything for free? There has to be an angle. Nobody does something for nothing! They are trying to catch you unaware and lull you into a false sense of security and then they will spring their trap. Once there is no more Microsoft or Apple then we will be in their power. Don’t you see? We need to stop them now while they are weak, disorganized and leaderless. Otherwise we are doomed.

In these hard economic times we need to stand together and buy more computers, with Windows on them. Microsoft is hurting right now. They have not bought anyone out in months. They had to drop their attempts to buy Yahoo because their cash reserves were so low. Soon they woun’t be able to pay bloggers to write rave reviews for Vista. What then? All of their eggs will be in one basket. They will need for Windows 7 to be a hit. What happens if they cannot pay for their FUD campaign against Linux? This cancer will have nobody to stand up to it. This is dire indeed.

Global capitalism is reeling. Don’t believe me? Turn on the news. Get with the programme. The socialsists are behind all of this crisis. They took down their wall, but they infected capitalism with their socialist ideas. Communist China has a stock market. Can you believe that? Now the commies own everything, even the stock market. We are dependent on China. How did all of this happen you might be wondering? Blame socialism.

Remember last summer’s Olympics. Where was it? China. What was the central point of the Olympics? No, it wasn’t Michael Phelps. It was the opening ceremonies where the whole world’s attention was foccused. And what do you remember happened? Think BSOD. Yes, the Chinese outed Microsoft in front of the whole world. Isn’t that proof enough that they (the commies) are behind all of this Linux nonsense and that they want to take down us, starting with Microsoft.

What else, happened in the news this past year? Think big. Think Obama. Yes, the first black president-elect. What was his campaign all about? Think about it. Change. Change from what? We are a capitalist society. So what else is there to change to, but socialism. Yes, he is a socialist. What is his big promise? He wants to give healthcare to 35 uninsured Americans. That means that there are 265 million insured Americans who are doing just fine, thank you. But what is he thinking about? He is focussed a few million poor people instead of the rest of us. He does not care about the majority who are doing fine without him.

Socialists are always looking at the glass as being half empty. They will never be satisfied until everone has healthcare. So, 265 million Americans are going to pay for 35 million freeloaders. And for what? Just so they can be healthy? As if that is important. They probably smoke and live on the streets anyway.  Heck, they could freeze next winter. Most of them are probably drug addicts, booze hounds and couldn’t hold a job anyway.

It is time to turn back the clock to the way it used to be. I don’t ask for much. We can’t change things over night. We may be few in numbers and feel that we are powerless against the powerful forces of Linux, but at least we can try.

The first thing to do is to buy computers and install Windows, especially Vista because it will lift the spirits of everybody at Microsoft enormously. Immediate effect. It will give lots of employment at Microsoft, but it will have a spinoff effect. Windows will create a demand for anti-virus, anti-adware, and anti-malware programmes. People will also want to buy lots of commercial software, too.

The hardware industry will benefit, too. Microsoft works closely with them to make sure that your old hardware will no longer work with their latest operating system. So it is a win/ win situation. We all get the benefits from their working closely together. It is a match made in Heaven. We get new equipment and the latest operating system and they create jobs, and grow stronger so that they can take over smaller companies that are not as efficient. As Microsoft grows larger then they can force even less efficient companies into bankrupcy. The system grows stronger and it is all done for our benefit. There is one fly in the ointment, socialism. It wants to even out the playing field which is their code word for giving things away for free, things that should belong to us, but they want to give to others.

We have a critical role to play in all of this and now is the time to act. They think that they have it going their way with President-elect Obama and Linux doing so well. They think that we are powerless because the economy is suffering, but we know differently. We know that only the poor and the workers are hurting, not ordinary capitalists. What with the bank bailouts even bankers are doing fine. Sure some of us won’t be buying Hummers and will have to settle for a hybrid instead. The point is that if you still have money then you can help by choosing where your money goes. Whatever you do, don’t donate it to Linux.

Microsoft, Apple and other corporations want our money to help fund their war against socialism. Linux stands in their way. It says that software should be free. That is because they don’t want money going to Microsoft who is onto them. Linux says that software should be open. They are against property ownership. That is proof positive that they are socialist.

One brand of Linux is called Ubuntu. They’re practically communist there. There name means (are you ready for this?) …. humanity. It is an African word and you know how communist Africa is. It actually means “I am who I am because of those around me.” That’s the truth. You can’t be who you are all by yourself. Nope. You’re a nobody all by yourself. It practically sums up communism. You know what is the worst part. They are the biggest threat because they have the most users and the largest community. Not only that, but they practically pay you to take Linux. They ship you disks for free. It costs you nothing.

If that was enough, their installer works inside Windows with something called WUBI. It is practically a virus because it puts Linux on a Windows computer. It is so easy to use that it is dangerous. You don’t need to know anything about computers. There is no partitioning to worry about. This could actually work. Unwitting Windows users could put the disk in and they will be instant converts. I tell you, this is getting serious and there are over 300 different kinds of Linux. This means there is a Linux version for everyone. Most of them are free. Where will it all end? Somebody has to do something before it is too late.

There is one guy who is speaking out. He is Steve Ballmer of Microsoft. He knows what this is all about. He spoke out years ago about this potential threat. He is like psychic. He is also a freaking genius. We need to listen to him. He is our leader. He is right up there with God. Here is what Ballmer says, “Open Source is not free.” Isn’t that profound? Parse the words and meditate on them sometime. It could be like a mantra. He goes on to accuse them of stealing. These Linux guys are a gang of thieves. Ballmer says so. If open source is not free, then what else could it be, but a socialist plot. Ballmer is under attack by Linux. Don’t believe all of the hate mongering. He is a straight up nice guy who is just making money and they are jealous of his success. He has everything that money can buy, except hair.

So, the next time you think about installing Linux. Don’t. Install Windows instead. Even though Linux installs in half the time, the extra time installing Windows will be well worth it.  It is the same when it comes to defragmenting a hard drive, re-booting after an update or clicking on dialogues that pop up to update this or that programme in Windows. Think of them as the cost of freedom. It is your patriotic duty to resist and to do all within your power to topple the socialist threat.

For anyone offended by this, I apologize. If you use Linux you have been brainwashed. Get help. What are you wainting for?

I will make the first comment in hopes of stopping people from taking this seriously. I wrote this in character as someone such as Ann Coulter might write it. It is satirical and may go too far for some, but it was fun writing and a change of pace for me, a serious guy.
BTW, I am a socialist and I don’t think that Linux is a socialist plot. Linux is whatever anyone wants it to be. Also, I share Steve Ballmer’s hairline. The comment just seemed fitting while I was writing in character. My comments about Obama and the U.S. are not what I personally believe. They just fit in with the theme. I respect him and his achievement. I look forward to America becoming once again what I grew up believing, that it was strong and free.
Please do not take this or life too seriously. Life is meant to be enjoyed.

The idea that Linux is socialist can easily be refuted using your first line. It doesn’t take according to ability (I could do much more to contribute, but choose not to), nor does it give according to need (I have plenty of software installed here that is of no practical use to me whatsoever).

Stallman seems to have something of a leftist bent (although I’ve no idea if that perception is accurate), but I’ve often seen Linus use concepts borrowed from Adam Smith and Frederic Bastiat to describe the way the Linux community operates (although he’s far too pragmatic to nail his colours to any particular mast).

If it does correspond to any one philosophy or ideology – and, like you, I don’t think it really does – it’s closest to (classical, ie “British”) liberalism. Do whatever you like, just don’t spoil it for anyone else.

Certainly, though, the sort of FUD you satirise here is all too prevalent.

Heh, heh…you’re doomed.

:D

I know this is a joke but I would like to make a little consideration.

The starting sentence is wrong.

“From each according to his ability. To each according to his need.”

That’s not socialism, is COMMUNISM.

Socialism is:

“From each according to his ability. To each according to his WORK.”

That’s a huge difference.

So, is Linux a Socialist Plot?
No, it isn’t, it’s a communist plot…. and we rule you all thanks to linux WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! :-)

Remember, in soviet linux the kernel runs you.

Personally, I don’t think that Linux=Communism, but I am pretty positive the author is a Nazi.

Nick,
You make a valid point. However, a right winger would not make that distinction. They lump everyone left of Hitler together as being commies, anyway.

Jordan,
I will take that as a compliment since that was the character I was writing as was to very ultra right wing, my extreme opposite, BTW.

Duncan,
Thanks for the long and thoughtful comment.

Adam,
I wrote this in a dull moment to liven things up. So far, so good. Although it is political and that always upsets some, it is done in jest. As a hardcore Linux user, I am indeed doomed… and brainwashed. This type of type I can handle.

Satire is a good way to ridicule ridiculous claims. Well done.

very good read, though it’s a pity you revealed it’s satirical nature. This is the kind of trolling I do like and would have loved to see how many people would actually read it through before flaming you to hell.

Nonetheless, excellent article :) :)

Ironically obama really is a socialist so go figure. And there is something about socialist about linux.
it DOES NOT WORK!

I pretty much agree with everything you say. I’m just afraid it’s too little, too late now. I actually have been a fan of linux for a while, and just became aware of the threat as a Christian. Supposedly, this new google OS is going to be built upon linux, and it may really take off. All of these little social things here and there will ultimately take a toll on our freedom here in America. But it’s hard to explain what our freedom is like to other countries who have been socialist for so long. Sure, it won’t be linux’s fault alone, but all of these factors contribute to socialism utterly taking over in America. The real kicker is that technically, Linux is a better operating system than windows and mac os are, just because of the sheer number of programmers who can revise the code. The only hope for windows or mac os is to get a large group of geniuses with photographic memories to program an OS completely in ASM code, bypassing all of this C++ and everything. Probably not going to happen anytime soon, it might take years to pull off. But it’s possible.
